A chair is the most human-like item of furniture. As much as it resembles humans, it has been profoundly embedded in history from the time even we barely know. Throughout this paper, we could approach to chair and sitting in three different contexts. First, on a historic level, sitting has been educated by outdated school system and planted through democratization of chair. the act of sitting has been deeply ingrained in our society as a means of discipline and order. On a cultural level, alternative ways of seating have been suggested, in recent times, as traditional chairs have been linked to various health problems. This has resulted in a shift towards non-chair seating options. At last, on a political level, power dynamics come into play when chairs are arranged in certain ways and sitting itself can be used as a form of protest.
